The Peruvian coffee was awarded as the best in the world at SCAA

Sucaticona Wilson has three hectares where coffee is harvested in the valley of Sandia in Puno. He is a member of San José Cooperative of Central Organization of Small-holder Coffee Farmer Cooperatives in the Sandia Valley (CECOVASA) and the coffee harvested from his land has been voted the best specialty coffee in the world. He left behind the coffee from Colombia, Guatemala and Kenya and was elected the winner from 140 different samples from 25 countries.
Organic Champion
For four consecutive years, our country has been participating in the fair held for 22 years organized by the Specialty Coffee Association of America. The Peruvian delegation was composed of 25 companies and 21 cooperatives.
The Arabica coffee took the victory in such different kinds of coffee, according to news agency Info Environmental Region. “With the organic certificate of Rainforest Alliance and fair trade, the coffee grows at more than one thousand 700 meters altitude in the valleys of Sandia in Puno, of Central Organization of Small-holder Coffee Farmer Cooperatives in the Sandia Valley.” 4,800 farmers and 8 coffee cooperatives are members of CECOVASA.
This isn’t the first time for Wilson Sucaticona and his coffee to be awarded. He’s Already recognized in our country in various competitions organized by the National Coffee Board, the Peruvian Chamber of Coffee and the Ministry of Agriculture.
Peru is the largest producer and exporter of organic coffee in the world and the leading supplier of specialty coffee in United States under the seal of Fair Trade (trade fair). Our coffee covers 25% in the niche market in the north.
